Sugarmill (2461 Larimer Street), the cozy RiNo cafe, bistro and daytime hang-out spot is offering an understated and celebrated brunch menu for the first day of the new year. Our favorites on the menu include the Sugarmill Breakfast Burrito, stuffed with tender braised pork, scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes and chignon cheese and topped with tomatillo, crema and papilla salsa. The signature Pastrami Hash comes with a pile of house-cured pastrami alongside glossy tender duck fat potatoes and tangy mustard vinaigrette, topped with a pair of sunny side eggs; or go traditional with the Croque Madame on ciabatta with tender ham and tart swiss and a béchamel sauce. It’s topped with a sunny side egg and a side of local greens. Of course, Chef/Owner Ryan Witcher knows his way around the sweet tooth, so don’t miss the Brioche French Toast with a sweetly herbal strawberry-basil compote, candied almonds and marscapone crème. Grab a fistful of the housemade daily macarons as you head out the door; the sweet meringue-based confection comes in a variety of flavors (don’t miss the cheery pistachio).
